About Buu Van Nygren
Buu Van Nygren (Diné) is the Chief Commercial Officer at Navajo Engineering and Construction Authority (NECA). The CCO responsible for the commercial strategy and development of NECA. It involves activities related to marketing, sales, product development, and customer service to drive business growth and market share. A fluent Navajo speaker, in 2018 Buu was the youngest person to ever be a candidate for the Navajo Nation Vice President position, where he advocated for younger generations to have a voice at the highest level of Navajo leadership. With his previous employer, he devoted eight years as a Project Manager and National Operations Trainer criss-crossing the USA supporting various construction leadership teams. He graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Construction Management & Master of Business Administration and is completing his Doctor of Education in Organizational Change & Leadership at the University of Southern California in a few months. Buu is Tachii’nii, Naa’adaaltso’ozi, Todich’ii’nii, & Naa’adaaltso’ozi. His wife is AZ State Representative, Jasmine Blackwater-Nygren who is Hashtł’ishnii, Ashiihi, Nóóda’í Dine’é Táchii’nii, & Bít’ahnii.
