In the first event in honor of the grand opening our new Tuba City Entrepreneurship Center, Change Labs invites special guests Amber Buker and Lakota Vogel to join Kristine Laughter, Director of Kinship Lending, for a special discussion on what it will take to unlock capital within Native communities. Centuries ago Indigenous built sophisticated trade routes that spanned continents. These routes were dismantled with the creation of Native American reservations. And despite our long history as Indigenous entrepreneurs, today's banking system neither acknowledges that history nor recognizes the unique needs of Indigenous entrepreneurs operating federal trust land. The system is long overdue for a redesign informed by Indigenous culture and values.
