WNM 2022 The Uncharted Market: Doing Business in the Navajo Nation

Join Farmington Women's Business Center and our guest speaker, Joseph Austin for a seminar on differences of running/starting your business in New Mexico and/or the Navajo Nation. This workshop will guide participants through the maze of registering their business on the Navajo Nation and some of the pitfalls that most businesses encounter during the process. It will also cover how Native owned businesses can certify their business to obtain priority status in the procurement process.

The Law Office of Joseph Austin, Esq. is a 100% Navajo-owned law office, duly registered in the Navajo Nation. LOJA is owned and managed by Joseph Austin, a member of the Navajo Nation.Mr. Austin specializes in the areas of federal Indian law, tribal law, family law, criminal law, corporate/business law, and international trade. He has represented a wide range of clients from small companies to large corporations. He is licensed to practice in the State of New Mexico and the Navajo Nation. Mr. Austin also founded the ACES School, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. The ACES School provides legal education to attorneys and judges and also hosts economic development conferences to educate participants on the legal mechanics and theories behind effective economic development in Indian Country.
